The lawmaker representing Akamkpa 1 constituency in the Cross River State House of Assembly, Hon. Ntufam Okon Nyong Owuna, recently received defectors from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Labour Party and from other parties into the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in his ward, Akamkpa urban ward, Akamkpa Local Government Area.
Some of the prominent defectees were Hon. Ofutane Paul Ogar, Mr Linus Ekpe Ntui, Mr Cyril Ntui, Mr Ofutane Sylvester, Mr Edwin Ita and a host of other supporters.
The defectors said they could longer watch from afar the wonderful work Hon. Owuna is doing in their ward without coming to join hands with him. They thanked him for always being a father to all, and pledged their loyalty to the APC, and declared their resolve to do their best in making APC more formidable in Akamkpa Urban ward and beyond.
In his response, the honorable member thanked them for taking the bold decision to join the ruling party, and admonished them on the importance of team work in the overall success of the party.
Party men and women present were also encouraged to accommodate the defectors in order to build a larger and stronger APC in the ward, Local Government and the state in general.
