Non-Indigenes Communities in Cross River have appreciated His Excellency Sen Bassey Otu for remembering them in the sharing of the Federal government palliatives.
This is the first time Non-indegenes have been carried along on issues such as this. We are grateful to the People’s First mantra administration.
This was echoed in a brief gathering to share the Palliatives given to the body through the Special Adviser to the governor, Mazi Okey Maduekwe.
Speaking during the handing over of the food items to their various leaders, Special Adviser the governor, Mazi Okey Maduekwe, said he is carrying out the directives of the governor to cushion the effect of the bitting hardship across the country.
According to him, “what we are experiencing today is the beginning of more goodies ahead. This administration is mindful of the existence of Non-indegines in the state as well as their economic values.”
He said that his Excellency is very passionate about the welfare of citizens, hence he had directed that Non-indegenes should benefit from the federal government palliatives.
According to him, “on several occasions, Gov Otu had promised to meet with the entire Non-indegenes across the state in a short while in a roundtable to say thank you for the massive support given to him during his election.”
He sued for cooperation among the various ethnic nationalities in the state so as to speak with one voice.
Mazi Maduekwe commended the leadership of the various for honouring his invitation for the brief meeting.
He commended the people oriented leadership of Sen Bassey Otu led administration.
“In his own wisdom, Gov Otu decided that non Indigenes should partake in the Federal government palliative is very unique and acknowledging”.
He said that the leadership of the non Indigenes are very happy from the little they got from government hoping to get more in future.
“The Tivs, Idomas, igalas, taraba name them, were all present during the brief meeting as well as the Igbos, Yorubas and Hausas.”
Earlier, the leaders of Yoruba and Buene communities in the state expressed their appreciation to governor Sen Bassey Otu for including Non-indegenes as beneficiaries of the palliative.
According to them, “this is unique. It is the first time we non Indigenes are been captured in a thing such as this. We are very appreciative of this development.”.
They lauded the Special Adviser to the governor, Mazi Okey Maduekwe for being transparent in dealing with people.
Also they pledged their unalloyed support to the SA as well as the Prince Otu led administration.
They promised to share the little they have received down the line so as to be judged by prosperity.
“The Special Adviser had proved to be a leader of the 21st century with the zeal to serve the people first and full of transparency, they added”.
They sued for more collaboration with government in the nearest future.
Earlier, the Special Adviser had officially handed over the items as shared to the leadership of the communities. These include rice, beans and garri.
The Special Adviser applauded the Leadership of the Non Indigenous ethnic nationalities resident in Cross River State for their believe and patience with the Government of the day as demonstrated by their efforts in discouraging their Youths from participating in the Nationwide Protest.
The Non-indegines in the state appreciated the Special Adviser and promised to form an executive to be able to drive the ethnic nationalities in the state.
The Igbos, Hausa Fulani, Yoruba, Akwa Ibom, Tiv, Igala, Idoma, Ijaws, Deltas, Edos, Rivers were represented. Their Leaders converged at Ideato Hall pouring encouimum on His Excellency Sen. Bassey Otu for an unprecedented palliative reach out by the People’s oriented governor.
The Special Adviser described it as a good outing. The Town Hall meeting of all the Leaders of Ethnic Non Indigenous nationalities resident in Calabar. The first ever in recent times”.
The Town Hall meeting was conducted in a very peaceful environment.
