As the Cross River State Independence Electoral Commission (CROSIEC) prepares for the upcoming Local Government Elections scheduled for November 2nd, 2024, a front line chairmanship aspirant for Obudu Local Government Council under the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr. Peter Undiandeye, officially picked his Expression of Interest form at the APC State Secretariat in Calabar on Monday.
Addressing a mammoth crowd of stakeholders and supporters, including students and youth from Obudu who accompanied him, Undiandeye expressed gratitude for their continued support. He pledged to empower youth and women while providing transformative leadership in line with Governor Senator (Prince) Bassey Edet Otu’s ‘People First’ mantra, which prioritizes the socioeconomic status of the good people of Obudu Local Government Area.
Undiandeye emphasized that his decision to contest was driven by the call of the Obudu people and beyond urging him to offer purposeful leadership.
Speaking further, he said that as someone familiar with the challenges of his community, he expressed readiness to adhere to the APC’s core manifesto and work in alignment with its leadership, ensuring a unified and effective governance framework.
He also outlined plans to unite the youth and engage them in innovative initiatives that will harness their potential for community development, while empowering women across all wards in Obudu Local Government Area.
