The newly inaugurated Chairman of Obudu Local Government Council, Hon. Undiandeye Peter Akonfe has pledged to implement an inclusive, open-door, and people-centered approach to governance, in line with the “People First” vision of Cross River State Governor, Senator (Prince) Bassey Edet Otu.

Speaking shortly after his inauguration in Calabar, Hon. Undiandeye expressed gratitude to God for the successful occasion and reaffirmed his commitment to fostering collaboration and welcoming ideas from all residents to promote growth and development within Obudu Local Government Area.

He outlined his commitment to prioritize the needs of Obudu’s residents and uphold the values of transparency and good governance.

Hon. Undiandeye assured that his administration would operate inclusively, ensuring Obudu is not left out in the state’s ongoing transformation by the Government.

Hon. Undiandeye also praised Governor Bassey Otu and Deputy Governor Rt. Hon. Peter Odey for their dedication to the people of Cross River State, commending their efforts in facilitating “free, fair, and credible” elections, especially in Obudu.

Assuring Obudu residents of impactful governance, he committed to projects that would directly benefit the community, appealing for continued support and cooperation to realize his administration’s goals.

He extended his appreciation to the Cross River State Independent Electoral Commission (CROSIEC) for conducting peaceful and transparent elections, fostering a positive political environment.

Speaking further, he expressed deep gratitude to his party leaders, campaign team, and supporters for their invaluable efforts. Additionally, he congratulated his fellow Chairmen from other local government areas on their swearing-in, as they join him in the work ahead.

Notably, in the November 2nd Local Government Polls, candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) won all council seats, including the 196 council wards across Cross River State. Certificates of Return were presented to Hon. Undiandeye and 17 other Chairmen.
