Retired HOLGAS of the Unified Local Government Service, Cross River State, have passed a vote of confidence on the leadership of the Chairman of Local Government Service Commission, for his innovative and transformative reforms, initiated to rejig the service.
The commendations came during a courtesy call on the Chairman of Local Government Service Commission, *Mr Darlington Bassey Eyo* in his office on Tuesday.
Speaking on behalf of the body, the Leader, Mr Augustine Ngaji, congratulated the Chairman. He extolled expertise of the Chairman and thanked the governor Senator Prince Bassey Otu, for making the right choice of bringing on board, an experienced personality.
They further pledged to volunteer their expertise to work with the commission, whenever called upon to do so, especially in the areas of staff trainings and also help to uncoupled the issue of over bloated wage bill in the service.
The Chairman of Commission, appreciated the forum for their resilience, even after service. He assured that the commission will synergize with them, owing to their wealth of knowledge.
“We will be practical in training, not theoretical. We will carry out trainings regularly to cover lost grounds against improving performance.”
He stated that retirees, who are of top priority to the administration of Prince Bassey Otu, will be given respite.
On the issue of Pension, the chairman assured retirees of his administration’s determination to pay more attention to operations of this critical component of the Local Govt Service Commission aimed at putting an end to the high prevalence of underhand dealings, as it is widely speculated.
