Calabar, Nigeria – The Special Adviser to the Governor of Cross River State on Religious Matters, Apostle Frank Umo, has extended his heartfelt congratulations to His Excellency, Governor Bassey Edet Otu, on his emergence as the Vice Chairman of the South-South Governors’ Forum.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, Apostle Umo described Governor Otu’s election as a well-earned recognition of his visionary leadership, unwavering dedication to regional development, and commitment to the progress of the South-South geopolitical zone.
He emphasized that since assuming office, Governor Otu has exemplified outstanding leadership, fostering peace, unity, and sustainable development in Cross River State. His new role, Apostle Umo noted, will further enhance regional cooperation and drive governance improvements across the South-South states.

At the same meeting, Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, was elected Chairman of the forum, as members collectively endorsed the Federal Government’s tax reforms and advocated for increased oil derivation to benefit the region.
Apostle Umo further urged the people of Cross River State to continue supporting Governor Otu in his mission to drive sustainable progress. He reassured them that in his new capacity, the governor will leverage his position to attract greater developmental opportunities to Cross River State and the entire South-South region.
