The Central Planning Committee for the 2025 Obudu New Yam Festival, on Friday, August 29, 2025, held a crucial consultative meeting with the Obudu Traditional Rulers Council as part of their preparations for the highly anticipated event. After a thorough deliberation, the council and the planning committee unanimously agreed on September 1st, 2025, as the official opening date for the festival. The grand opening ceremony will take place at the palace of the Paramount Ruler of Obudu, marking the beginning of a vibrant series of cultural displays, traditional rites, and festive activities that will run throughout the week.
