As part of activities marking this year’s Bakor Nation New Yam Festival, Head of Protocol to the Deputy Governor of Cross River State, Pastor Modey Ugbuji, on Monday celebrated with party faithful and community members at Ibil, Ogoja Local Government Area.

Beyond the traditional feasting and merriment, Ugbuji distributed farm inputs, including pumping machines, cartons of organic and liquid fertilizers, bags of rice, and cash support to residents of his community
He explained that his gesture was not only to join in celebrating the new yam with the people but also to appreciate the people for their unwavering support to the administration of Governor Bassey Otu and his deputy, Rt. Hon. Peter Odey.

Ugbuji assured them of the government’s continued interest in their welfare, emphasizing that better days lie ahead while urging them to sustain their support for the present administration which prioritizes ‘People First’
The event featured goodwill messages from dignitaries, including the Vice Chairman of Ogoja LGA, Hon. Emmanuel Idi Yakubu, APC Ogoja Chapter Chairman, Mr. Paul Adinye, Press Secretary to the Deputy Governor, Barr. Fred Abua, and Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Public Relations, Pastor Maurice Nkong as well as SA to the Governor (Event North) Terem Igbodor, among others

Speaking for the beneficiaries, Mr. Gabriel Ufah commended Mr. Modey Ugbuji for reaching out to the people of Ibil. He assured Mr. Ugbuji that the items received would be put to proper use and assured him of their continued support for the current administration.
Also in attendance were the village head of Ibil, HRH Chief Adolphus Modey Atembe, SSA to the Deputy Governor on Special Duties, Ferdinand Agbeh, Director, Ogoja Urban Development Authority, Mr Eri John, Community leaders, women, youth and party faithful.
