The Executive Chairman of Obudu Local Government Area, Hon. (Amb.) Peter Akonfe Undiandeye, KSM, has continued to receive an outpouring of tributes from across Cross River State as he marks his birthday, with many describing him as a grassroots leader and a paragon of humility.
In a goodwill message posted on social media, the Special Assistant to the Deputy Governor of Cross River State on New Media, Comrade Owai Obo, lauded Hon. Undiandeye for his unwavering commitment to the development and transformation of Obudu, describing him as “a man whose life exemplifies dedication, purpose, and selfless service to humanity.”
Comrade Obo noted that before emerging as Council Chairman, Hon. Undiandeye had long been involved in community service, youth empowerment, and peace advocacy — all of which reflect his deep-rooted passion for grassroots development. His leadership, he said, continues to demonstrate vision, compassion, and a genuine desire to uplift the people of Obudu.
Through inclusive governance and people-oriented policies, the Council Chairman has strengthened unity and driven development across the ten wards of the local government area. His administration has implemented life-impacting programmes such as social safety schemes for aged women and vulnerable groups, youth empowerment initiatives, financial support for students, and the “Back to School” programme for pupils in primary and secondary schools.
Under his watch, local infrastructure has also improved, with road grading, bridge construction, and community linkages becoming more prominent. His consistent engagement with political leaders, traditional institutions, and religious stakeholders has further deepened harmony and progress in the area.
Fondly called Pita Pars, Hon. Undiandeye is widely admired for his simplicity, humility, and accessibility — qualities that have made him a true people’s leader. His training at the United States Institute of Peace (USIP) has also strengthened his advocacy for peace, which he continues to promote across Obudu and neighbouring border communities with Benue State.
Comrade Obo concluded by praying for God’s continued guidance and blessings upon the council boss, describing him as “a servant-leader whose humility and people-first leadership style continue to inspire many.”
