As part of his oversight functions and commitment to driving inclusive development, the member representing Biase State Constituency in the Cross River State House of Assembly, Hon. (Engr) Francis Ogban, has led a delegation of lawmakers to the headquarters of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

The visit, undertaken by members of the House Committee on Power and NDDC, was aimed at strengthening collaboration between the Cross River State Government and the NDDC to attract more infrastructure projects to Biase and other parts of the state.

Hon. Ogban, who chairs the committee, noted that the engagement was designed to fast-track ongoing projects, initiate new development interventions, and ensure an equitable spread of NDDC-funded initiatives across the state’s communities.

He was accompanied by Hon. Bette Obi, Member representing Boki I State Constituency, and Hon. Brian Odey, Member representing Yala I State Constituency. The delegation underscored the urgent need for the NDDC to give priority to critical sectors such as road rehabilitation, rural electrification, and social infrastructure, all of which are essential to boosting economic activities and improving livelihoods.

Speaking during the meeting, Hon. Ogban reaffirmed the committee’s determination to ensure that Cross River State receives its fair share of NDDC interventions. He expressed optimism that the engagement would translate into tangible results for Biase and other local government areas.

He commended the NDDC management for its ongoing interventions across the state and appealed for renewed attention to communities that have long been overlooked in project implementation.
