History does not reward hesitation. It rewards courage, the courage to recognize the moment, to seize it, and to shape it. Today, Obubra/Etung Federal Constituency stands at such a defining crossroads. The question before the people is simple yet profound: will we continue with the familiar cycle of promises, or will we embrace a future built on competence, vision, and deliberate action?

This is where Engr. Dr. George Ndifon Abang enters the conversation, not as just another aspirant, but as a compelling answer to a long-standing question: what kind of leadership do we truly deserve?

For too long, our politics has been driven by sentiments rather than substance, by noise rather than results. But the times are changing, and so must our choices. The challenges facing Obubra and Etung, youth unemployment, infrastructural deficits, limited economic opportunities, are not insurmountable. What they require is not guesswork, but grounded expertise; not slogans, but strategy.

Engr. Dr. Abang represents that shift.

He brings to the table a rare combination of technical knowledge, administrative insight, and a deep understanding of the people he seeks to represent. As an engineer, he understands systems – how they are built, how they function, and most importantly, how they can be fixed when they fail. As a leader who connects with his people, he understands people, their struggles, their aspirations, and their expectations for a better tomorrow.

But beyond qualifications lies character. Leadership is not only about what a man knows; it is about what he stands for. In Engr. Dr. George Ndifon Abang, many see integrity, accessibility, and a genuine commitment to service. These are not abstract ideals; they are the foundation of trust, and trust is the currency of effective representation.

The question we must ask ourselves is this: can we afford to gamble again?

Can we continue to recycle representation that has failed to meet the urgency of our needs? Or will we, this time, make a deliberate choice- one guided by reason, informed by evidence, and inspired by hope?

This moment also calls for strategic foresight from the leadership, stakeholders and party faithfuls of the All Progressives Congress (APC). Elections are not won by chance; they are won through the careful selection of candidates who resonate with the people and inspire confidence across communities. In Engr. Dr. George Ndifon Abang, the APC has a candidate whose credibility, acceptability, and grassroots connection position him as a strong contender capable of uniting diverse interests and converting support into votes. Granting him the party ticket at the House of Representatives primaries scheduled for May 18, 2026, ahead of the 2027 elections would not only reflect the will of the people but would significantly strengthen the party’s chances of securing victory at the polls.

The growing support and yearning for Engr. Dr. Abang across Obubra and Etung wards and communities is not a coincidence. It is a reflection of a people who are increasingly aware, increasingly engaged, and increasingly determined to chart a new course. It is the sound of a constituency refusing to settle for less anymore.

This is not just about an election. It is about a generational decision. It is about laying the foundation for sustainable development, for inclusive growth, and for a future where the potentials of Obubra and Etung are fully realized.

The future will not arrive on its own. It must be chosen. It must be built. It must be defended.

And perhaps, just perhaps, that future begins with a name that is steadily gaining the confidence of the people, Engr. Dr. George Ndifon Abang.

The time is now. The choice is ours.
