Cross River State Forestry Commission Helsman, Rt Hon. George O’ben-Etchi, has been inducted as a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Administration (CIA).

The induction ceremony held at the Centre for Management Development (CMD), Shangisha, Lagos on Friday, 8th December, 2023.

In a keynote address, the President/Chairman of Council, Adm. (Dr) Festus Oshoba, FCIA said that the Chartered Institute of Administration is a Nigerian professional body established in 1987, Chartered by Act No. 103 of 1992, now Cap C7 LFN 2004 and empowered by government to regulate the training in, and practice of Administration in the public and private sectors. He noted that the Fellowship Status of the Chartered Institute of Administration is the highest designation a member can attain in his/her professional career as an Administrator.

Oshoba, shortly after administering oath of professional membership and presentation of certificates to inductees urged them to remain worthy ambassadors of Chartered Institute of Administration by adhering to the code of ethics while carrying out their duties as professionals.

The Chairman/Chief Executive Officer, Cross River State Forestry Commission, Rt Hon. George O’ben-Etchi, in his response shortly after his induction as the only Cross Riverian (inductee) at the 52nd induction ceremony/AGM, expressed his gratitude to the Governing Council of the prestigious Chartered Institute of Administration (CIA) for finding him worthy and formally approving his election as a ‘Fellow’ of the CIA.

O’ben-Etchi’s career is marked by a diverse range of roles and achievements. He has served as a two term House of Assembly Member representing Akamkpa 11 State Constituency, State Exco member and Chairman of Commissioners Forum and currently the Chairman/Chief Executive Officer, Cross River State Forestry Commission.

Similarly, Adm. Sampson Olopade, FCIA, Chairman of Membership Committee stated that other prominent Nigerians were inducted into the Associate Membership grade of the institute, having successfully fulfilled the prescribed course of study and passed the professional examinations of Chartered Institute of Administration.
