The remains of Golden Ezine, Ogbuefi Bernadette Nwazuruahu Nwosu, the sister in-law of the former Deputy Governor of Cross River State, Prof. Ivara Ejemot Esu, has been laid to rest at her country home in Oguta, Imo State on Friday, December 15, 2023.
The burial which took place at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Oguta, Imo State, attracted the academia, government officials and business mogul from across the country.
In his condolence message, the former Deputy Governor of Cross River State, Prof. Ivara Esu, noted that the deceased had left a legacy that is worthy of emulation.
He described the deceased as a devout Christian, baptized on the 12th of December, 1942 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Oguta.
He said: “my sister in-law who died at the ripe age of 93 lived a good life. She was a generous woman and a mother to all she came across. The calibre of children she raised and the height they have all attained in their various endeavours in life is indicative of her hard work and dedication, Prof. Esu said”.
“She can only be remembered by her legacies. I urge other family members to sustain her legacies by continuing with her positive traits”.
Prof Esu prayed God to grant the soul of the deceased perfect peace.
Late Golden Ezine was born into the family of Nwosu Okwuosha Ngoni of Umuezenwanyi kindred kindred Umudei villlage, Oguta, Imo state. She began her formal quest for education in Sacred Heart School, Oguta in 1940 for her standard 3. She later proceeded to Holy Rosary School, Oguta as one of the foundation pupils for her standard 4 & 5. She later obtain her standard 6 certificate in 1948 at Holy Rosary School, Ihiala. She proceeded to the Holy Rosary Teacher’s Training College, Ihiala where she graduated with teachers grade II certificate in 1953. This heralded her dedicated journey as a professional
