In a demonstration of commitment to grassroots development and party growth, the Senior Special Assistant to the Deputy Governor of Cross River State on Special Duties, Mr. Agbeh Ferdinand Ekpong, on Saturday empowered loyal members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Mbube West Ward 1, Ogoja Local Government Area.

Speaking during the presentation of the items, which included a tricycle, two palm oil milling machines, and a palm kernel cracking machine, Ekpong expressed appreciation to his principal, the Deputy Governor of Cross River State, Rt. Hon. Peter Odey, for finding him worthy to serve in the administration.
He encouraged party members to remain steadfast and committed, assuring them that the leadership of the party continues to take note of their efforts and loyalty.
“Not everybody will be empowered at the same time, but subsequently, committed and dedicated members will be carefully selected for empowerment,” he said.
He further encouraged party faithful to remain focused, noting that the administration of Governor Bassey Otu is committed to grassroots development and the overall improvement of the socio-economic status of Cross Riverians.

Also speaking at the event, Mr. Abuo Ekpong, who accompanied the SSA for the exercise, congratulated the beneficiaries and made a cash donation to support them. He urged them to make effective use of the items received and continue to support the administration of Governor Bassey Otu.
Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, Samson Osang expressed gratitude for the gesture, describing it as a morale booster for party members in the area.
“This gesture has boosted our faith in the party and given us hope to continue serving diligently,” he said, noting that the empowerment was the first of its kind by any political appointee from Ekumtak Village.

Beneficiaries of the empowerment programme included Samson Osang, who received a tricycle; Ajie Veronica Adeh and Agu Ekpong, who each received a palm oil milling machine, and Glory Abuo Otonko, who was presented with a palm kernel cracking machine.
The event was attended by party faithful, community leaders, and other stakeholders from Mbube West Ward 1.
