The Special Assistant to the Deputy Governor of Cross River State on New Media, Mr. Owai Obo, has called on Cross Riverian youths to remain focused and united as the state intensifies efforts to reclaim its rightful littoral status.
In a statement shared on his official Facebook account, Obo emphasized that young people have a crucial role to play at this defining moment. He urged them to be sensitive to the trending and critical issues affecting the state and to avoid distractions or indifference.
He cautioned youths against engaging in premature political campaigns and partisan activities, noting that while politics is an important aspect of democracy, there is a proper time and season for it. He referenced the revised edition of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) timetable, encouraging young political actors to align their activities accordingly.

Obo further called on youths to strategically support Governor Senator Prince Bassey Otu, his supportive Deputy, Rt. Hon. Peter Odey and the Cross River Team, stressing that unity, cooperation, and focused energy are essential as the administration works to protect and advance the state’s interests.
“The time for politics and campaigns will surely come. For now, unity, focus, and support must take priority,” he stated.
This appeal comes amid ongoing discussions about Cross River State’s bid to reclaim its littoral status, a move seen as vital for the state’s economic growth and development.
