The Obudu Local Government Council has reaffirmed its commitment to environmental sustainability by fully participating in the statewide sanitation exercise scheduled for Saturday, February 22, 2025. In line with the Cross River State Government’s directive, the Executive Chairman of Obudu Local Government Council, Hon. (Amb) Peter Akonfe Undiandeye, (KSM), has called on all residents, business owners, and community leaders to take part in the exercise to achieve the shared goal of a cleaner and healthier Obudu.
The sanitation exercise will take place from 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM, during which all residents are expected to clean their homes, business premises, streets, and public spaces. The initiative aims to promote environmental hygiene, prevent disease outbreaks, and promote a sustainable waste management culture.
To ensure effective implementation of the exercise, the Obudu Local Government Council through the Supervisor for Environment has urged environmental health officers, sanitation task forces, and community leaders to oversee activities and ensure full compliance.
Additionally, security personnel will be deployed to restrict unnecessary movement during the sanitation period, except for essential workers and emergency services.
The Obudu Local Government Council remains steadfast in its commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and healthy environment for all residents.
