The Calabar Tinapa Lions Club, District 404A2, Nigeria, has set a ₦20 million fundraising target for the completion and equipping of a block of six classrooms and a staff room as part of activities marking the investiture of Lion Sandra E. Achu, NICF, as the club’s 17th President.
The fundraising and investiture ceremony is scheduled for Thursday, October 1, 2026, at Beelaj Events, 111 Ndem Usang Iso Road, Calabar, beginning at 3:00 p.m.
The education project forms a major part of the club’s community-service drive, with the proposed funds expected to support the completion and equipping of the classroom block and staff room, thereby contributing to improved learning and teaching facilities for beneficiaries.
Beyond the fundraising, the event will formally usher in Lion Sandra E. Achu as President of the Calabar Tinapa Lions Club for the 2026/2027 service year, alongside her Board of Directors.
Her emergence marks the beginning of a new service year in which the club is expected to sustain its humanitarian interventions and community-development programmes, with education featuring prominently among its areas of intervention.
The ceremony is expected to attract Lions and Leos, community leaders, stakeholders, philanthropists, invited guests and friends of the club, as the organisation rallies support for the classroom project and other humanitarian initiatives.
The organisers have fixed a charity fee of ₦10,000 for Lions and guests, while Leos will pay ₦5,000.
