The Etung Economic Development Team has extended their congratulations to Governor Bassey Otu, the people of Cross River, and all Nigerians on the occasion of the country’s 64th Independence Day anniversary.
In a statement released to the media, the group’s Director General, Engr. Dr. George Abang, emphasized the significance of the day, urging Cross Riverians and Nigerians to continue displaying patriotism and remain steadfast in their belief in the nation’s prosperous and peaceful future.
Engr. Dr. Abang highlighted that Independence Day is celebrated with great enthusiasm, pride, and a strong sense of patriotism, in recognition of the countless sacrifices made by past and present leaders. He noted that the occasion serves as a reminder of the privilege of living in a free, united, and prosperous nation.
He also assured that Governor Otu, ably supported by his deputy, Rt. Hon. Peter Odey, is addressing the state’s challenges, including infrastructural decay, insecurity, and issues in education and healthcare.
Abang pointed out that several programs and projects have been launched, aimed at resolving these issues for the benefit of the people.
He further encouraged citizens to support the efforts of President Tinubu, Governor Otu, and Deputy Governor Rt. Hon. Peter Odey, as they work to advance development and achieve the vision of Nigeria’s and Cross River State’s founding fathers.
In conclusion, he expressed optimism that the coming years would bring prosperity and progress to Etung Local Government Area, Cross River State and Nigeria.
