In a bid to reinforce peace, security, and uphold Cross River State’s reputation as one of the safest states in Nigeria, the Acting Governor of the state, Rt. Hon. Dr. Peter Odey, paid a courtesy visit to the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Olufemi Oluyede, at the Army Headquarters in Abuja, on Wednesday.
Accompanied by the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Hon. Emmanuel Ironbar, Surveyor-General of the State, Surv. Patrick Bassey, and the Senior Special Adviser to the Governor on International Corporation and Investment, Rev. Victor Edet, Odey expressed appreciation for the unwavering sacrifices and dedication of the Nigerian Army and other security agencies in addressing security challenges both in the state and across the country.
Reaffirming the commitment of Governor Bassey Otu’s administration to strengthening ties with the Nigerian Army, Odey congratulated Lt. Gen. Olufemi Oluyede on his recent appointment and emphasized the state’s determination to enhance security collaboration.
In response, the Chief of Army Staff expressed gratitude for the visit and assured the Acting Governor of the Nigerian Army’s continued partnership and cooperation with the Cross River State Government to sustain the peace and security in line Governor Bassey Otu ‘People First’ mantra and ‘Renewed Hope’ agenda of President Bola Tinubu.
