The Acting Governor of Cross River State, Rt. Hon. Peter Odey, Ph.D, has congratulated the Governor of Edo State, Monday Okpebholo, on his victory at the election tribunal, describing it as a triumph for democracy and the rule of law.
In a statement issued on Thursday by his Press Secretary, Barr. Fred Abua, Odey described the tribunal’s ruling as a victory for democracy, justice, and the will of the Edo people. He commended the judiciary for upholding fairness and reaffirming the mandate given to Governor Okpebholo during the election.
“I extend my heartfelt congratulations to my brother and counterpart, Governor Monday Okpebholo, on his well-deserved victory at the election tribunal.
“This verdict reflects the strength of our democratic institutions and the confidence the people of Edo State have in his leadership and the All Progressives Congress (APC). I encourage all stakeholders to embrace this decision and collaborate for the state’s advancement,” Odey stated.
Emphasizing on solidarity, Odey called on political leaders to transcend partisan divides and prioritize the welfare of the people. He expressed optimism that Okpebholo’s administration would harness the momentum to drive transformative development across Edo State in line with his administration’s vision and President Bola Tinubu’s ‘Renewed Hope’ Agenda.
