The Leader of Biase Legislative Council, Hon. Egwu Egeh Umet(adm), has commended the Governor of Cross River State, Senator Bassey Otu, for the recent addition of two aircraft to the state’s aviation fleet, describing the move as a bold and visionary step toward boosting the state’s economy and the socioeconomic status of its citizenry.

In a statement made available to the media, Hon. Umet praised Governor Otu’s foresight and commitment to reviving critical sectors of the state’s economy, particularly transportation and tourism. He noted that the acquisition of the new aircraft will not only ease transportation for residents and visitors but also position Cross River State as a major hub for business and tourism in the South-South region.

“This move by His Excellency, Senator Bassey Otu, is commendable and timely. The addition of two aircraft to our aviation fleet is a testament to the governor’s dedication to improving infrastructure and driving economic growth,” Hon. Umet stated.

He emphasized that the development will enhance investor confidence and create new opportunities for employment, tourism, and commerce across the state. According to him, the initiative aligns with the governor’s “People First” agenda and reflects a practical approach to governance that places a premium on impactful development.

Hon. Umet also highlighted the potential of the aircraft to improve intra-state mobility and inter-state connectivity, noting that it would attract investors, and promote ease of doing business within and beyond Cross River State. “Our people will feel the impact directly,” he added.

The Councillor representing Adim ward further called on political stakeholders, community leaders, and citizens to rally behind Governor Otu’s administration, assuring them that the state is on the path to transformation.

He concluded by expressing confidence in the governor’s continued delivery of democratic dividends, stating, “Governor Otu is building on the achievements of the past administration. As a legislature, we are fully in support of his efforts and remain committed to collaborating with the executive arm to ensure the prosperity of our dear state.”
