The Commissioner for Industry in Cross River State, Dr. Mathias Unimke Angioha, on Thursday hosted Hon. Peter Akpanke, member representing the Obudu/Obanliku/Bekwarra Federal Constituency and consensus candidate for the OBO Federal Constituency ahead of the 2027 general elections, following his victory at the recently concluded APC primary election.
The gathering, held in a festive atmosphere, was not only a celebration of Hon. Akpanke’s emergence but also a reaffirmation of commitment to the people of OBO and quality representation.
Speaking during the event, Dr. Angioha congratulated Hon. Akpanke on his successful outing at the primaries and pledged his unwavering support towards ensuring victory for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections.
The Commissioner, a grassroots politician known for his strong connection with the people, also declared his readiness to mobilize support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, His boss Governor Prince Bassey Edet Otu and all APC candidates in the forthcoming national and state elections.

According to him, the continued unity of party stakeholders and supporters across Obudu, Obanliku and Bekwarra remains critical to sustaining the developmental strides of the APC-led administrations at both the state and national levels.
The event attracted several political leaders and stakeholders, including the Chairman of Obudu Local Government Council, Hon. Dr. Peter Akonfe Undiandeye, Vice Chairman of obudu LGA Hon. Rhoda Ashong, Former SSG CRS, Hon Mike Upan, Chairman Zack Agba, Hon. Bridget Alina, alongside party faithful and supporters from the three local government areas that make up the OBO Federal Constituency.

In his remarks, Dr. Anashie Akpanke, widely known for his vibrant public speaking and humour, expressed appreciation to Dr. Mathias Angioha for what he described as his generosity, commitment, and continuous support for the people of Obudu and the OBO Federal Constituency.
He prayed for God’s blessings upon the Commissioner, the Obudu Council Chairman, and all those present at the gathering, while urging continued unity and collaboration among party members ahead of the 2027 elections.
The gathering ended on a note of optimism and solidarity, as stakeholders reiterated their commitment to strengthening the APC and ensuring electoral success across the constituency and the State.
