The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bekwarra Local Government Chapter, Comr. Odama Thomas Odama, has congratulated the Governor of Cross River State, Senator (Prince) Bassey Edet Otu, on the occasion of his 67th birthday anniversary, commending his commitment to people-centred governance and infrastructural development across the state.
In a goodwill message released to the press on Sunday, Comr. Odama described Governor Otu’s administration as one driven by a people-first philosophy, noting that the government’s development agenda continues to prioritise critical infrastructure, healthcare delivery and the restoration of essential public utilities for the benefit of Cross Riverians.
Comr. Odama particularly highlighted the ongoing construction of the 10-kilometre Ugboro–Ukpah–Afrike Road as a significant intervention expected to improve connectivity, ease transportation and enhance economic activities in the benefiting communities and surrounding areas of Bekwarra Local Government Area.
The APC Chairman also applauded the comprehensive remodelling of healthcare centres across the state, describing the initiative as a demonstration of the administration’s commitment to strengthening healthcare infrastructure and improving access to essential medical services.
He further commended the state government’s substantial investment in the repair and replacement of vandalised critical power infrastructure, noting that restoring essential electricity facilities is vital to supporting economic activities, improving public services and enhancing the overall quality of life of residents.
According to him, these interventions reflect the practical expression of Governor Otu’s People First policy, which places the welfare and development needs of citizens at the centre of governance.
Comr. Odama noted that the governor’s 67th birthday provides an opportunity to celebrate his leadership and reflect on ongoing efforts to advance the development of Cross River State. He expressed optimism that the administration would sustain its commitment to delivering projects and policies that directly improve the lives of the people.
