It was a celebration galore in Ikot Ana community in Biase Local Government Area as the wife of the Governor of Cross River State, Her Excellency Rev Mrs. Eyo-Anwan Bassey Otu, donated food items, clothings and cash to women of the community.
While presenting the gift items, the Managing Director and Chief Executive officer of The Cross River State Tourism Bureau (CRSTB), Prince Ojoi Uguana Ekpenyong who represented the Governor’s wife expressed Her Excellency’s felicitation, noting that charity must always begin at home. He further stated that the act of benevolence was born out of Her Excellency’s desire to put smiles on the faces of women and children during this yuletide season.
Prince Ojoi equally affirmed the position of the community on their resolve to always support the wife of the Governor who happens to be their daughter wholeheartly.
In reacting to the gesture, the women who were visibly excited spoke through their speaker, thanking the first lady and her husband for always remembering the women of the community in their scheme of things.
The women also thanked the MD/CEO of the CRSTB and his family for their magnanimity and show of love to the people. prayers were offered to God for continues protection and blessings upon the benefactors of the project.
Prior to the presentation of the gift items, the council of chiefs led by HRH Onun Oboqua Uguana congratulated His Excellency, the Governor of CRS, Senator Prince Bassey Otu on his victory and the appointment of their son(Prince Ojoi U. Ekpenyong) as the MD/CEO of CRSTB . HRH also thanked Her Excellency’s team with a live goat and five tubers of yam.
A total of 15 bags of rice, 100 fathom of rapper materials, bags of salt, cartons of Tomato, spices and 1M naira cash was presented to the women of the community.
The following personalities were part of the delegation; The wife of the MD/CEO CRSTB (Mrs Ebreye Uguana Ekpenyong); Chief Isaka Ekpenyong (The former chief of staff to the chaiman of council); Engr. Ekpenyong A. Ana (The Ag. Head of Petroleum Engineering Department, Unical); and Mrs Nsa Ewa Ezima.
