The Executive Chairman of Biase Local Government Area, Hon. Edodi Edodi Eyong, has debunked reports alleging his involvement in the endorsement of the Member representing Akamkpa/Biase Federal Constituency, Hon. Dr. Emil Inyang, for a second term in office.
In a statement made available to the public, Eyong described the claims as unfounded and a misrepresentation of events. He clarified that his attendance at a recent meeting in Calabar was strictly for an Easter stakeholders’ and constituents engagement, and not for any political endorsement.

According to him, no discussion or agreement on endorsement took place in his presence, noting that he and other Biase leaders had already left the venue before any such development allegedly occurred.
The chairman expressed displeasure over the use of his name in connection with the reported endorsement, stressing that he neither participated in nor consented to the process.
Reaffirming his commitment to party discipline, Eyong stated that he would not be part of any endorsement without the directive of the Governor of Cross River State, Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu, who remains the leader of the party in the state.
He further emphasized that the leadership of Biase Local Government Area is guided by due process and committed to preserving unity and order within the party.
Eyong, therefore, distanced himself and the Biase local government administration from the alleged endorsement and urged the public to disregard any reports suggesting his involvement, reiterating that Biase remains aligned with the leadership and direction of the party.
