A leading aspirant for the Akamkpa/Biase Federal Constituency seat, Princewill Ogban, has paid a consultative visit to the Paramount Ruler of Akamkpa Local Government Area, Ophot Dr. Ewot Ewa, as part of efforts to seek traditional endorsement and blessings for his political ambition.
The meeting, held at the royal palace in Uyanga, Akamkpa LGA of Cross River State, highlighted Ogban’s engagement with grassroots leadership and traditional institutions ahead of the forthcoming elections.
Speaking during the visit, Ogb
an emphasized the importance of traditional rulers in community leadership, describing them as custodians of culture and moral authority. He noted that their blessings and prayers remain vital to the success of any leadership pursuit.
The aspirant reaffirmed his respect for traditional institutions, adding that their endorsement carries both spiritual and societal significance in the political process.
In his remarks, the monarch, Ophot Dr. Ewot Ewa, commended Ogban for what he described as a display of humility, cultural awareness, and proper upbringing. He noted that the visit reflected the aspirant’s strong connection to his roots and respect for established authority.
The Paramount Ruler further disclosed that Ogban is the first aspirant in the race to formally visit and seek royal blessings, describing the move as commendable and indicative of responsible leadership. He advised the aspirant to continue consultations with key stakeholders and remain aligned with the leadership of his political party, the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Offering his blessings, the monarch prayed for divine guidance and success in Ogban’s political journey, expressing confidence in the aspirant’s prospects.
In response, Ogban pledged that if elected, he would prioritize the welfare of constituents by replicating the “People First” agenda of the Governor of Cross River State, Bassey Edet Otu, across the federal constituency.
He outlined plans to deliver critical infrastructure, improve access to clean water, create opportunities for foreign scholarships for youths, and implement empowerment programmes aimed at enhancing livelihoods and driving sustainable development.
