Former Governor of Cross River State, Senator Professor. Ben Ayade, CON, has continued the second phase of motorcycle distribution to ward chairmen of the All Progressives Congress (APC) across Bekwarra, Ogoja, and Yala Local Government Areas on Monday.
Speaking during the distribution, Sir Ben Ayade, who was represented by Mr. Fidelis Ishoja, stated that the initiative is aimed at strengthening grassroots political engagement and improving mobility for party leaders. Several ward chairmen received motorcycles to aid their activities within their respective wards, especially as the electioneering period approaches, when their presence will be needed to mobilize party faithful.

He emphasized the importance of empowering grassroots party leaders, noting that ward chairmen play a critical role in mobilizing support, fostering community development, and maintaining effective communication between the party leadership and the people.
The second phase of the distribution took place at Kakum Village, where beneficiaries expressed appreciation for the gesture. The motorcycles, according to stakeholders, are expected to ease the logistical challenges faced by ward chairmen as they carry out their duties and coordinate party activities across communities.

In his remarks, the APC Chapter Chairman of Ogoja Local Government Area, Paul Adinya, conveyed deep appreciation to the former governor for what he described as a consistent demonstration of leadership and commitment to the welfare of party members. He noted that the gesture was a continuation of Ayade’s longstanding dedication to grassroots development.
Similarly, the APC Chapter Chairman of Yala Local Government Area, Solomon Ogar, expressed gratitude for the initiative, describing it as a remarkable act of generosity that would greatly benefit party members at the grassroots level. He prayed for God’s continued blessings upon the former governor and for the fulfillment of his aspirations.

Also speaking, the APC Chapter Chairman of Bekwarra Local Government Area, Thomas Odama, described Kakum Village as a symbolic place for the party and commended Ayade’s compassionate leadership. He noted that the gesture reflects the former governor’s longstanding character as a leader who prioritizes the welfare of his people.
Odama further urged ward chairmen to remain active and dedicated in carrying out their responsibilities, emphasizing the need for unity and commitment in strengthening the party at the grassroots.

The motorcycle distribution forms part of ongoing efforts to reinforce the operational capacity of APC ward leadership structures across northern Cross River communities.
Contributing on the sidelines, Mr. Linus Ibli noted that the first phase of the distribution covered Obudu and Obanliku Local Government Areas. He expressed hope that the distribution to the affected LGAs today is a clear indication that more dedicated and loyal party faithful will be empowered beyond the provision of motorcycles. He also congratulated all the ward chairmen who benefitted from the exercise.
