Chairman/CEO of Cross River State Forestry Commission, Rt. Hon. George O’ben-Etchi, confidently assures that the upcoming rerun election for the Member representing Akamkpa/Biase Federal Constituency, Hon. Chief (Dr) Emil Inyang, is poised to be a decisive walkover victory.
On Sunday, the two-term House of Assembly Member representing Akamkpa II in the Cross River State House of Assembly affirmed this commitment during the visit of the APC Campaign Organization for Emil Inyang to Ekong Anaku Community in Ojuk North Ward, Akamkpa Local Government Area, as part of the campaign leading up to the rerun election.
O’ben-Etchi, in his speech, highlighted Onun Emil Inyang’s remarkable competence in his past roles and his current exemplary leadership representing Akamkpa/Biase Federal Constituency. He urged the Ekong Anaku electorate to offer their full support to this exceptional lawmaker, encouraging him to sustain his impressive representation.
Speaking on behalf of the lawmaker at the Royal father’s palace in Ekong Anaku, O’ben-Etchi, the former Commissioner for Solid Mineral and Chairman of Cross River State Commissioners Forum, emphasized that the rerun is not just about Onun Dr. Emil Inyang but a personal election. He commended the royal fathers for their unwavering support throughout the electioneering periods, emphasizing that their endorsement is a backing for the ‘People First’ Governor, Senator (Prince) Bassey Edet Otu-led administration.
Similarly, during an address at Ekong Anaku Town Hall, the Federal Lawmaker specifically praised party stalwarts, community leaders, women, and youth for their extraordinary spirit of unity and love displayed during and after the recent elections. He emphasized that this collective effort would soon bring about the necessary growth and development in the area, facilitated by effective representation, including improved road access and the exploration of natural resources to enhance the standard of living.
In their individual reactions, the royal fathers, youth as well as Women representatives, and party leaders at the polling units all characterized Emil Inyang’s rerun election as a clear walkover. They consistently reiterated, “Go and Sleep, Ekong Anaku people will provide the necessary support for you and the APC.”
They reiterated that with his depth of commitment within a few months in the national Assembly, he deserves a better chance for a continued performance.
Addressing the interactive town hall meeting, the Director-General of the All Progressives Congress Campaign Organization for Emil Inyang, Asso. Prof. Uti Egbai, expressed gratitude to the Chief, Youth, Women, and Party Stalwarts for their prior support to the APC. He urged them to uphold the mandate by casting their votes overwhelmingly for the APC in the upcoming February 3rd rerun election.
The former Chairman of Akamkpa Local Government Area and the current Member representing Akamkpa II in the Cross River State House of Assembly, Hon. Linus Etim, alongside the former Secretary of Council, Hon. Raphael Inongho, the Chapter Women Leader of the APC in Akamkpa LGA, former Councillors, and Executive Members of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, among others were part of the campaign trail.
