Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Cross River State have commended Hon. Cyril Omini, lawmaker representing Yakurr 1 constituency, for his outstanding leadership in the State House of Assembly.
This is coming in the wake of various empowerment programmes initiated by the lawmaker which has created positive impact in the lives of his constituents, including donations to support businesses and education, as well as financial assistance to the less privileged and needy members of his constituency and beyond.
Reacting to recent developments in the constituency, an APC chieftain and former Senior Special Assistant to President Buhari on Prosecution, Chief Okoi Obono-Obla, in a statement expressed admiration for Hon. Omini’s exceptional performance and sterling leadership. Obla noted that Hon. Omini’s initiatives represent a significant departure from the norm and heralds a new era of transformative leadership in the constituency.
“Hon. Cyril Oden James Omini, a compassionate leader and representative we have not seen since 1999. I have to commend the generosity, kindness, response, quality leadership and representation Honourable Cyril James Omini is giving our people. He has definitely taken the gauntlet of leadership and the numerous challenges and stress it comes with.
“The young first term legislator has done what we have not seen from all our elected Representatives since 1999. He is teaching all of us what leadership is all about. On 8 March 2024, Hon. Cyril doled out millions of Naira to vulnerable and poor women in his Yakurr 1 State constituency to mark the international women’s day to assist them start small businesses.
“While some of our representatives are shifty and dodgy just to avoid providing a helping hand to our poor and vulnerable people, Hon. Cyril is always lurking around the corner ready and eager to help,” said Obono-obla.
In a similar position, Prof. John Inyang, former Commissioner for Lands and Housing in the state, hailed Hon. Omini for setting a new standard of excellence in legislative representation. He noted that for Cross River and Nigeria to move forward, the country need more leaders like Mr. Cyril who carry the burden of his people at heart.
“Hon. Cyril Omini has shattered records with his exemplary leadership. His focus on welfare and humanitarianism sets him apart as a transformative leader. We are fortunate to have him representing us in the State Assembly,” said Prof. Inyang.
Engr. Mathew Bassey also lauded Hon. Cyril Omini for his unprecedented leadership style and called on other elected officials to emulate him.
“The recent empowerment event organized by Hon. Cyril Omini is a testament to his commitment to the welfare of his constituents. The event was a grand one, very heart touching especially when I saw some old woman who never dreamt of holding such an amount of money at this time.
“I saw so much ecstasy and smiles in the faces of market women across the constituency. His passion for uplifting the lives of the people is truly inspiring,” said Engr. Mathew.
Hon. Eteng Obol, another prominent figure in the APC, commended Hon. Cyril Omini for his impactful representation and support for local businesses.
