In a pivotal event earlier today, Friday 5th April,2024, the Director General of the Cross River State Primary Healthcare Development Agency (CRSPHCDA), Dr. (Mrs.) Vivien Mesembe Otu, spearheaded the opening of the immunization unit at Mother Elizabeth Medicare Center in Ward 8, Calabar South Local Government Area (LGA). This initiative marks a significant step forward in enhancing routine immunization (RI) coverage across the state.

The ceremony commenced with a heartfelt goodwill message delivered by the esteemed Clan Head of Ebuka, HRH Dominic Atta, underscoring the importance of community support in healthcare endeavors. Following this, a keynote address was delivered by a representative of His Holiness Olumba Olumba Obu, emphasizing the spiritual and moral imperative of safeguarding public health through immunization.

Dr. Otu then led an insightful inspection tour of the newly established facility, reaffirming the commitment of the CRSPHCDA to ensuring the highest standards of healthcare delivery. The meticulous examination aimed to guarantee that the infrastructure and resources were in place to effectively serve the community’s immunization needs.

A pivotal moment in the event was the official handing over of the immunization unit to the state government, symbolizing a collaborative effort between local and state authorities in bolstering healthcare infrastructure and services. This transfer underscores the government’s dedication to sustainable healthcare development and its ongoing support for initiatives aimed at improving public health outcomes.

Overall, the event served as a beacon of hope for the residents of Calabar South LGA, promising increased access to essential immunization services and a brighter, healthier future for generations to come. Through collective action and strategic investments in healthcare infrastructure, communities across Cross River State are poised to achieve greater resilience and well-being.
