The assignee hails from Okweriseng Community of Ubang Clan in Alege/,Ubang council ward of Obudu LGA of Cross River State .
Hon. Dr chief martins Orim, in 1999 under the canopy of the people’s Democratic party (PDP) birthed his political career as he mounted the office of the ward Chairman , this shows he is a grass rooter. Among his peers he was circled as chair of chair, meaning the chairman of all chairmen.
It was not long as the Ward Chairman of the PDP in 1999, he served again in the capacity of Political adviser to hon Afung Reuben Okang , who then was the leader of Obudu legislative council under All People’s Party (APP).
His score card as a poinneer P.A to a sitting Council leader marketed him politically.
Chief martins Orim got his political profile widening as he again piloted the affairs of the best football team of the state then, known as the Hill Top Football Club of Obudu.
Under his stewardship as the chairman, all competitive and friendly matches, home and away were won by his club side.
Cross Riverians have so much confident in him even as he served the PDP at the chapter level as the Treasurer of the party. Proper accounting was kept , through this process he was one of the best TRs across the state.
In test running his ability as a leader, the mantle of leadership still fell on him as a Special Adviser, Peace, and Security in Obudu LGA.
During this period under review, crises within and outside the LGA that usually takes longer period to controland resolve were rather trashed within a twinkle of an eye due to competency endowed on him by God.
As an Emerging leader the good people of Alege/Ubang entrusted in him the political mandate as a gate keeper.
Through this process, he was elected councilor for Alege/Ubang Ward in Obudu LGA.
He legislatively served the council as the deputy leader.
His loyalty and honesty is know no bound to the extent that , he was asked to take over the leadership at the death of hon Adenshi who died as a serving leader, but he honestly declined the offer.
The journey has been one of the significant contributions made to his Community, Ukpe, Alege,Ubang(UKALU), Utugwang, Ukpe, Alege, Ubang(UTUKALU), Obudu LGA,and cross River Stat at large.
Under the led government of Hon. Emma Ugbe, he was appointed as S.A on Tourism, charged with duty of local welfare activities and demostic lenage of Obudu. Ranching Resort was straighten.
What else again, the first ever Youth in the history of Nigeria who rosed to the position Chief of Staff to the Government of Cross River State in recent times.
At ward level,under the leadership of Ikong cyprain, Mr Henry Ublibli at chapter level, Bar Alphonsus Ogar Eba (JP) at the state level said the national should receive you and assign you responsibilities to be saddle with.
