The Cross River State Branch of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN) is set to host the much-anticipated South-South Banking and Finance Conference, themed: “Building an Inclusive South-South: Economic Diversification as a Catalyst for Development.”
The landmark event is scheduled for Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at 10:00AM, and will be held at the Calabar International Convention Centre (CICC), Calabar.
The conference will feature as Special Guest of Honour, His Excellency, Senator (Prince) Bassey Edet Otu, Governor of Cross River State, whose administration continues to champion policies centred on economic diversification, industrial growth, and financial inclusion as drivers of sustainable development.
According to Mr. Charles Emefiele, FCIB, Chairman of CIBN Cross River State Branch, the event is a timely and strategic response to both national and regional calls for economic renewal. He emphasized that the conference will create a platform for dialogue among top professionals in banking, finance, public service, and the private sector.
Mr. Emefiele noted that the forum will explore viable opportunities to stimulate growth across key sectors such as agriculture, tourism, technology, and manufacturing, with the goal of fostering inclusive development in the South-South region.
