The Deputy Governor of Cross River State, Rt. Hon. Peter Odey, has emphasized that Easter is not merely a season, but a solemn commemoration of God’s immeasurable love for mankind.
In his Easter message posted on his official Instagram handle, @rt_honpodey, the Deputy Governor highlighted the profound significance of the passion, death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, describing it as a compelling reminder that love is the greatest. He urged Christians to embrace the true essence of the cross by showing love and kindness to one another.
“The essence of Easter which is love should draw us back to Christ, and working for the good of our state irrespective of our political affiliation” he stated.
According to the Deputy Governor, no state, country, or society can experience meaningful development without love and unity, virtues that Jesus Christ perfectly demonstrated on the cross.
He further appealed to the people of Cross River State to continue to support the administration of Governor Senator Prince Bassey Otu, as the government remains committed to the advancement and prosperity of the state.
“Happy Easter. He is Risen,” Odey concluded.
