The advocacy visit to Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Mr. Erasmus Ekpang, by the Cross River State Primary Health Care Development Agency (CRSPHCDA) advocacy team led by the Director-General CRSPHCDA, Dr. (Mrs) Vivien Mesembe Otu was a resounding success. The team, focused on promoting the introduction of the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine, received a warm reception from the Honourable Commissioner who expressed his unwavering commitment to the cause.
During the meeting, Mr. Erasmus Ekpang assured the advocacy team that he would actively participate in the exercise, ensuring that the information about the HPV vaccine is disseminated throughout Cross River State. He pledged to utilize all media outlets affiliated with his ministry to reach every corner of the state, allowing health workers to vaccinate eligible girls aged 9-14 years.
The Commissioner’s dedication and support to the CRSPHCDA advocacy team is a testament to his commitment to promoting public health initiatives in the state. With his assistance, the introduction of the HPV vaccine will have widespread awareness and accessibility, ultimately benefitting the health and well-being of the young girls in Cross River State.
