Politics is often described as a dirty game, yet it remains one of the most powerful vehicles that can announce a man to the world—especially those who truly understand the essence of public service. While many venture into politics for personal gain, others are driven by conviction, passion, and a desire to change the narrative. It is this latter path that distinguishes leaders who leave their mark in history.

Political relevance comes at a price—the price of selfless service to the people. Ophot Felix Akposi, Executive Chairman of Akamkpa Local Government Area, stepped into the political space deliberately and steadily, and today, his profile continues to rise with remarkable progress to his credit. I was convinced from the beginning that if given the opportunity to serve, Chairman Felix Akposi would make a difference in Akamkpa. Looking back now, I thank God I pitched my tent with his aspirations. His leadership journey has been characterized by compassion and empathy—qualities of a true servant-leader committed to uplifting the poor and downtrodden.

Unlike some who stumble into political offices by chance, Felix Akposi’s story reflects careful preparation and a deliberate sense of duty. Politics, whether regarded as a career or profession, demands integrity. Our founding fathers—Obafemi Awolowo, Nnamdi Azikiwe, Tafawa Balewa, among others—showed us that politics can indeed be service to humanity. Their legacy challenges us today to ensure that the “labour of our heroes past shall not be in vain.”

Akamkpa has been blessed with great leaders, but Chairman Felix Akposi has raised the bar since assuming office on 4th November 2024. In just nine months, his achievements speak loudly across the LGA. His inclusive leadership style has endeared him to the people, making him arguably the most popular Chairman in the history of Akamkpa Local Government.

From agriculture to infrastructure, education, rural development, and security, the “Golden Era” of Chairman Felix Akposi is making an impact. His administration has invested heavily in agricultural revolution projects such as palm nurseries, while also grading key community roads in Neghe, Mbobui, Eku, and Ikpai Achan. Market stalls have been built, bursaries have been paid to students, and social welfare initiatives rolled out—all pointing to a leader committed to grassroots transformation.

Indeed, under his administration, infrastructural projects have been executed simultaneously across Akamkpa. It is no wonder the Chairman confidently affirms that he has been blessed with a “finisher’s anointing.”

Chairman Felix Akposi governs under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and his success is not just administrative but political. His rising profile is evidence of a man prepared for leadership and good governance. In line with the saying, “follow who know road,” Akamkpa cannot afford to miss its path under his stewardship.

With compassion, love, and empathy as his guiding principles, Chairman Felix Akposi continues to win the hearts of his people. Posterity will surely be kind to him. May God bless our Golden Chairman.
