The Cross River State Governor, Sen. Prince Bassey Otu has assured Cross Riverians of his administration’s support to export the cultural and ecological endowment of our beautiful state to the world.
The Governor made this remark through his deputy, Rt. Hon. Peter Odey who received the reigning queen Face of Culture Africa, 26yrs old Miss Manyi Affangha, from Akamkpa Local Government Area who was crowned in November, 2020.
Odey welcomed the queen, Miss Manyi Affangha home and applauded her for representing the state at the Federal and for Thinking Cross River State as she goes to represent Nigeria in New York.
Speaking earlier, Miss Manyi Affangha intimated the Deputy Governor of the programs she has carried since she was crowned queen, such as advocacy program for people with special needs sponsored by the former Minister of State for FCT, Dr. Mrs Ramatu Tijani Aliyu, an outreach to Lugbe Secondary School Abuja, where fees were paid and school materials distributed among the students, visitation to Destiny Orphanage Kado and visit to the maternity ward of Police Hospital in Calabar where donations were made to nursing mothers.
As a result of her hard work, Miss Manyi Affangha had an extra year added to her reign and nomination to represent Nigeria in New York in the upcoming Best Diplomat Simulation in New York. “Best Diplomat” is a New York based organization of the United Nations where young leaders and change makers have been chosen to discuss on “strategies For Mitigating Climate Change”.
Queen Manyi sees this as an opportunity to show case the natural and ecological endowment of Cross River State and to invite investors to the state.
Highpoint of the visit was a presentation of a portrait of the Governor, Sen. Prince Bassey Edet Otu.
