It was an all atmosphere of celebration on Sunday 31st March 2024 being Easter and the commemoration of the resurrection of Christ as the Special Adviser on Labour Matters to the Cross River State Governor, Comr Clarkson Otu played host to party faithful of the All Progressives Congress in his country home of Abini in Akpet/Abini Ward of Biase Local Government Area.
Addressing the crowd the SA thanked the Governor of Cross River State, His Excellency Senator Prince Basset Edet Otu for finding him worthy of the appointment. He assured the people that his appointment is not just for him but for everyone in the community and ward especially those who are of the party.
He assured the people of a multiplier effect and encouraged everyone to support the administration of his Excellency and be certain of democratic dividends.
In his remark. Chief Ogbodim Ogbodim, a leader and critical stakeholder of the party in the ward expressed his gratitude to the Special Adviser, Comrade Clarkson Otu for being exemplary rather than seek self. He commended his willingness to share with the people which is same as bringing the government back home.
The highlight of the event was the defection of the stronghold of the PDP with it followers and eating, drinking and cash gift to party members.
The defectees include the immediate PDP ward secretary Udop Ubi Oke, present PDP Ward Secretary Mr Ubi Udop Eromi, Former Councilor Akpet/Abini Ward, Hon Ekwong Isu Ekwong, Former Supervisory Councilor Akpet/Abini Ward, Hon Cyril Egong Enang alongside hundreds of their followers.
Receiving the defectees, the Ward Chairman, Franklyn Egbai thanked them for taking the bold step and assures them of total inclusion in all party rights and privileges.
In attendance are leaders and stakeholders of the ward which includes Chief Ogbodim Ogbodim, Mr Edodi Eyong Edodi, Mr Ephraim Eko, Rev. Fr. water, the Ward Chairman Franklyn Egbai, the Ward Secretary, Nathaniel Eyong, the ward Youth Leader Mr Ogbu Otei amongst others.
