A socio-community development group in Etung Local Government Area, Ochimabiji Anakae, has honoured Engr. George Ndifon Abang, PhD, Founder of the Abon Abang Foundation, in recognition of his consistent support for child development and youth empowerment within and beyond the local government area.
Presenting the award during a courtesy visit to his residence in Calabar, the leader of the women’s group, Ntukae Lady Bridget Oru Etta, described Engr. Abang as “a beacon of hope and a true son of Etung whose generosity continues to inspire a new generation.”

She commended Engr. Abang for his personal and foundation-led initiatives in sponsoring educational programmes for students across all levels of learning, as well as for supporting orphans and other vulnerable groups both within and outside the local government area.
Responding shortly after being presented with the symbolic award plaque, Engr. George Ndifon Abang expressed gratitude to the group, Ochimabiji Anakae (Etung Ka Arek), for the recognition. He dedicated the honour to the children of Etung and reaffirmed his commitment to investing in human capital development.

He further encouraged other well-meaning individuals within and beyond Etung Local Government Area to join hands in providing mentorship, educational opportunities, and other forms of support aimed at improving the socio-economic well-being of children, particularly the vulnerable ones in society.
Engr. Abang also commended the Etung women’s group for their dedication and commitment to community development and assured them of his continued partnership in initiatives that promote the welfare of women, children and the overall development of the area.
