In his unwavering commitment to enhancing the living standards of his constituents, Hon. (Engr.) Francis Ogban, the member representing Biase State Constituency in the Cross River State House of Assembly, has facilitated the installation of solar-powered street lights across Biase communities through the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).
As the Chairman of the House Committee on Power and NDDC in the 10th Assembly, Hon. Ogban recently visited Biakpan and Okurike communities to inspect the ongoing installations, ensuring strict adherence to the specifications and standards set by the NDDC.
During the visit, Mr. Duabo Jackreech, the project supervisor, commended the host communities for their cooperation in facilitating the smooth execution of the project. He assured that the installation would be completed within the stipulated timeline and in full compliance with the required standards.
Expressing gratitude on behalf of Okurike community in Aguagune/Okurike Ward, Pastor Charles Atu lauded the contractor and his team for their dedication to quality work. He also extended appreciation to Hon. Francis Ogban for bringing such a transformative project to Okurike, emphasizing that the street lights, once completed, would boost economic activities and enhance security in the area.
Similarly, residents of Biakpan community turned out in large numbers to show their appreciation for Hon. Ogban, recognizing his commitment to fulfilling his campaign promises.
In his response, Hon. Ogban thanked the people of Biase for entrusting him with their mandate in the 10th Assembly. He urged community leaders to take full ownership of the street lights and other government projects, ensuring their maintenance and sustainability.
Hon. Ogban further disclosed that the street light project extends across all political wards in Biase and will be executed in phases. He assured residents that once installations in Biakpan and Okurike are completed, the contractor will proceed to the next set of communities until all designated areas benefit from the project.
He expressed optimism that within the next few months, the entire project would be completed, significantly improving infrastructure across Biase communities.
