In every society, leadership is ultimately measured not by promises made, but by lives touched. Across the communities of Obubra and Etung, a quiet but powerful transformation is taking place – one driven not by rhetoric, but by purposeful action. At the center of this movement is Engr. Dr. George Ndifon Abang, whose Back-to-School Scheme has become a symbol of hope, compassion, and forward-thinking leadership.

At a time when many families struggle to meet the basic educational needs of their children, this initiative, delivered through the Abon Abang Empowerment Initiatives, arrived as a timely intervention. Thousands of pupils and students in both primary and secondary schools have received essential learning materials – exercise books, school bags, sandals, and more. For many of these children, these are not just items; they are tools of dignity, confidence, and renewed motivation to learn.

From Government Secondary School, Nsofang, to Modern Secondary School, Bendeghe Ekeim, from St. Anthony Primary School, Ajassor, to Government Science School, Obubra, and across Community Secondary School, Adun, Government Technical College, Obubra, and Primary School, Apiapum, the impact has been widespread and deeply felt. Parents have expressed relief, teachers have found renewed encouragement, and students now approach their studies with greater enthusiasm and renewed hope..

But beyond the distribution of materials and financial support lies a deeper message, one that speaks to the kind of leadership Engr. Dr. Abang represents. This is leadership that listens. Leadership that understands the everyday realities of the people. Leadership that prioritizes human capital development as the foundation for long-term progress, aligning with the ‘People First’ mantra of the Governor of Cross River State, Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu.

Education remains the bedrock of any thriving society. By investing in the young people of Obubra and Etung today, Engr. Dr. Abang is not only addressing immediate needs but also shaping a brighter, more prosperous future for the constituency. This is the kind of vision that aligns with the true purpose of representation – bringing development closer to the people and ensuring that no community is left behind.

As the next electoral cycle approaches, the people of Obubra/Etung Federal Constituency are presented with an important choice: to support leadership that is visible, impactful, and people-centered. Engr. Dr. George Ndifon Abang has already demonstrated a clear commitment to service. His actions demonstrates a readiness to do more, to represent effectively, and to advocate passionately for the needs of his constituents at the national level.

The journey toward a better Obubra/Etung is not built on words alone – it is built on consistent, meaningful action. With a track record that speaks for itself, Engr. Dr. George Ndifon Abang stands as a credible and capable choice for the House of Representatives.

Indeed, when leadership begins with the children, the future is already in safe hands.
