The Executive Chairman of Obudu Local Government Area, Hon. (Amb.) Peter Akonfe Undiandeye, KSM, along side his Vice Hon. Rhoda Ashong, on Saturday joined the Governor of Cross River State, Sen. Bassey Otu, the bereaved family, and other dignitaries at the burial ceremony of the late Professor Ibiang Oden Ewa in Ugep, Yakurr Local Government Area.
Prof. Ewa, father of the Honourable Commissioner for Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs, was a renowned scholar and highly respected community leader. He was celebrated for his outstanding contributions to education, research, and the socio-economic growth of Cross River State.
In his tribute, Hon. Undiandeye described the late academic as “a trailblazer whose life’s work left an indelible mark on both academia and humanity.” He praised Prof. Ewa’s unwavering dedication to knowledge, mentorship, and service to the community, noting that his legacy would continue to inspire future generations.
The ceremony attracted an array of prominent personalities, including top government officials, traditional rulers, members of the academic community, and well-wishers from far and near, all gathered to pay their final respects.
Hon. Undiandeye conveyed his deepest condolences to the bereaved family, praying for divine comfort and urging them to take pride in the enduring impact of their patriarch’s life and service.
