As part of his administration’s dedication to infrastructure development and improved accessibility, the Chairman of Obudu Local Government Area, Hon. (Amb) Peter Akonfe Undiandeye, KSM, has begun the construction of a network of roads in Obudu Urban area.
Speaking during an inspection tour of the project sites, Hon. Undiandeye emphasized that the initiative aligns with the “People First” mantra of Cross River State Governor, Apostle Senator (Prince) Bassey Edet Otu. He reiterated his commitment to delivering sustainable development projects that directly benefit the people of Obudu, addressing their needs and aspirations.
The Chairman further stated that his administration is determined to extend the “Season of Sweetness” championed by Governor Otu by working for the people who entrusted them with their mandate. He highlighted that road construction is a crucial foundation for broader development beyond economic growth.
Speaking further, he (Undiandeye) expressed gratitude to community leaders, stakeholders, and the legislative arm of the Local Government for their unwavering support and cooperation. He urged residents to continue supporting and praying for the success of Governor Otu’s administration, which remains focused on prioritizing citizens’ welfare and enhancing the socioeconomic status of the state.
Community leaders and residents, including Chief Festus Asinde, Mr. Godwin Agogo, and Mr. Lishilinimye, praised the initiative, describing it as a long-overdue intervention that will boost businesses, enhance the community’s aesthetics, and improve accessibility.
Describing the council chairman as a “promise keeper,” they (residents) commended his swift fulfillment of campaign pledges, underscoring his passion for the development of Obudu. They pledged their continued support throughout his tenure and prayed for divine wisdom to guide him in serving the people effectively.
The ongoing road construction projects includes the grading and compacting of Chief Joseph Anale Street, Raphael Nawa Street (Beacon Table water), Akanu Close, which connects Chief Joseph Anale Street, Prof. Agana Close (the first left Turn as you navigate Raphael Nawa Street),and Godwin Agogo’s Street (the second left turn in Raphael Nawa street at the extreme), and among others.
