As part of the Eid Al-Adha celebrations, the Chairman of Obudu Local Government Area, Hon. (Amb) Peter Akonfe Undiandeye, KSM, paid a heartfelt Sallah visit to the Hausa community in Obudu to extend his goodwill and solidarity on this sacred occasion.
During the visit, Hon. Undiandeye congratulated the Muslim faithful on the successful completion of the Eid rites and lauded the community for their peaceful coexistence and invaluable contributions to the socio-economic development of Obudu.
He emphasized the importance of unity, tolerance, and mutual respect among all ethnic and religious groups, noting that festivals like Eid Al-Adha offer opportunities not only for spiritual reflection and sacrifice but also for fostering stronger communal ties.
Hon. Undiandeye further urged the faithful to remain steadfast in their prayers for the continued peace, progress, and prosperity of Obudu, Cross River State, and Nigeria as a whole.
In appreciation, leaders of the Hausa community expressed their gratitude for the Chairman’s visit and reaffirmed their commitment to working closely with the local administration to promote peace and development.
A major highlight of the visit was the presentation of food and non-food items, including a ram, bags of rice, and cash donations, as a gesture of love and support to the community during the festive season.
