The Chairman of Obudu Local Government Area, Hon. (Amb) Peter Akonfe Undiandeye, KSM, has applauded the Northern Cross River Coalition (NORTHCCO) for endorsing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Bassey Otu for second terms in office.
Speaking to journalists during NORTHCCO’s General Assembly at the Ogoja Council Pavilion on Monday, Undiandeye hailed the coalition’s decision as a “bold and strategic alignment with the people’s aspirations.” He praised NORTHCCO’s unity and vision in championing governance that prioritizes development.
“I commend NORTHCCO for their resolute endorsement of President Tinubu, Governor Otu, and his steadfast deputy, Rt. Hon. Peter Odey,” Undiandeye stated. “Their leadership has delivered tangible results nationally and locally. A second term will consolidate on the gains already achieved and deepen progress.”
The Chairman highlighted ongoing federal and state projects in the Northern Senatorial District, including infrastructure upgrades, like road, Obudu Airport completion, enhanced security, and expanded social welfare as well as agro-industrialization initiatives, among others. He urged the people of of Obudu and the entire northern senatorial district to remain United and supporting the administration’s efforts at all levels.
“This is not just about politics,” he continued. “It’s about sustaining the transformation we’re witnessing, particularly in Northern Cross River,” he emphasized.
Responding, Governor Bassey Otu who was represented by his deputy, Rt. Hon. Peter Odey called for unity among the people of the Northern Senatorial District, emphasizing the importance of collective effort fostering growth and development.
He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to the timely completion of ongoing projects and the initiation of new ones aimed at improving the lives of the people.
“We urge continued support and prayers for Governor Otu and our team as we strive to fulfill our mandate,” Odey added.
Earlier, Prof. Zana Akpagu, while presenting NORTHCCO’s resolutions, commended Governor Otu’s development-focused governance and urged stakeholders, diaspora communities, and residents to rally behind the government to ensure sustained prosperity.
The carnival-like event was attended by traditional rulers, youth and women’s groups, religious leaders, and political stakeholders.
