Cross River State Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Peter Odey, has commended members of Prince and Peter (P&P) Advocates for their unwavering commitment, dedication and grassroots support in advancing the administration of Governor Senator Prince Bassey Otu and the People First Agenda.
The Deputy Governor gave the commendation while receiving a delegation of the group on a courtesy visit to his Conference Room, Government House, Calabar, on Thursday.

Describing members of the pro-Otu group as a formidable force in strengthening grassroots engagement and promoting the administration’s policies across the state, Odey said, “You are the backbone of this administration. Your commitment, dedication and zeal have been exceptional, and I sincerely appreciate every one of you for the tremendous work you have done.”
He reaffirmed his commitment to the group, noting that he considers himself an integral part of its mission and remains dedicated to achieving its collective objectives.
“We will not rest until we achieve our collective goals. I see myself not just as a supporter but as a member of this group,” he stated.
The Deputy Governor also expressed appreciation for the members’ prayers, encouragement and steadfast support, describing their loyalty as a source of strength that continues to inspire him in public service.
He further urged the group to sustain its grassroots mobilisation efforts by encouraging eligible citizens to participate in the ongoing voter registration exercise, stressing that broad civic participation remains essential to strengthening democracy and advancing the administration’s vision.
Earlier, the Director General of Prince and Peter (P&P) Advocates, Mr. John Odey, represented by the Deputy Director General, Engr. George Abang, Ph.D., said the visit was to reaffirm the group’s unwavering support for the People First Administration and its commitment to grassroots mobilisation across Cross River State.

Abang congratulated the Deputy Governor on his emergence as the party’s deputy governorship candidate for a second consecutive term, describing the nomination as a reflection of his loyalty, humility, exemplary leadership and contributions to the success of the Otu-led administration.
He thanked the Deputy Governor for his continuous support and encouragement to the group, assuring him of its resolve to continue mobilising grassroots support, promoting government policies and programmes, and advancing the ideals of the People First Agenda. He also appealed for sustained collaboration to strengthen the group’s mobilisation and advocacy activities across the state.
