The Executive Chairman of Obudu Local Government, Hon. (Amb.) Peter Akonfe Undiandeye, has commended Governor Bassey Otu for his steadfast commitment to infrastructure development across all three senatorial districts of Cross River State.
Amb. Undiandeye gave this commendation on Saturday while accompanying the governor on an inspection of the ongoing construction of the Obudu Cargo and International Airport, Obudu.
Describing the governor’s unwavering commitment to rural development as unprecedented in the state’s history, the chairman assured Governor Otu of the people’s unflinching support in his efforts to transform Cross River. He particularly lauded the progress of the Obudu Cargo Airport, emphasizing its potential to serve as a vital economic hub by facilitating trade, boosting tourism, and attracting investments to the state. He further urged residents to cooperate with the government to ensure the seamless execution of the project.
Speaking during the visit, Governor Otu reaffirmed his administration’s focus on infrastructure development, highlighting its role in boosting economic growth, improving accessibility, and improving the overall standard of living.
Otu, expressing satisfaction with the level of work done, he urged contractors to maintain high standards and adhere to project timelines.
Also speaking to the press, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Aviation, Hon. Dr. Kenneth Aklah, commended Governor Otu for his significant strides in infrastructure development, particularly in road networking across Ogoja and Yala local government areas, as well as the Obudu Cargo and International Airport.
Governor Otu was accompanied on the visit by his deputy, Rt. Hon. Peter Odey, members of the State House of Assembly, council chairmen, commissioners, and other top government officials from the Northern Senatorial District.
