In a bid to support the Calabar Urban Development Agency (CUDA) during the 32-day Carnival Calabar celebration, the wife of the Governor, Rev. Eyoanwan Otu, has facilitated the distribution of Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs), ensuring the smooth and safe delivery of their services throughout this festive period.
Rev Otu, in her remarks, delivered by the Special Adviser, Programs, Projects and Events, Dr Inyang Asibong noted that this distribution is in line with the State Government’s commitment to both protecting its workforce and safeguarding its citizens:
This donation of PPEs to CUDA demonstrates the State Government’s unwavering commitment to the welfare of its employees and the safety of the public. We understand the vital role CUDA plays in keep the city squeaky clean during the Carnival, and we want to ensure that their staff can carry out their duties safely and effectively. – Rev. This distribution by the Governor’s wife is a positive step towards ensuring a safe and enjoyable Carnival experience for everyone involved.
Responding, the Executive Secretary of Calabar Urban Development Authority, Chief Etim Effiong Ayi, commended the Governor’s wife for her humanitarian disposition and reiterates his team commitment to put to effective items received.
He noted that the items provided would boost the moral of CUDA staff as they work to ensure the success of the Carnival festivities.
Highpoint of the event was the presentation of the PPEs which include over 1000 sets of gloves, face masks, coveralls, and protective eye goggles to Chief Etim Effiong Ayi, Executive Secretary of CUDA, on behalf of his team.
