The Executive Chairman of Obudu Local Government Council, Hon. Peter Akonfe Undiandeye, hosted the delegation of the University of Calabar (UNICAL) Alumni Association, Obudu Chapter, at the council headquarters in a warm and celebratory atmosphere.
During the visit, the Chairman of the UNICAL Alumni Association, Obudu Chapter, Mr. Jude Ogar, extended heartfelt congratulations to Hon. Undiandeye on his election and assumption of office. He commended the chairman’s leadership qualities and assured him of the association’s unwavering support in advancing the growth and development of Obudu.
Mr. Ogar emphasized the critical role of collaboration between the council and community stakeholders, including the alumni association. He noted that such partnerships could be instrumental in addressing developmental challenges and fostering progress within the local government area.
In his response, Hon. Undiandeye expressed profound gratitude to the alumni for their visit and show of solidarity. He acknowledged the alumni association’s vital contributions to promoting unity and advancing development in Obudu and beyond.
“I am deeply honored by your visit and your words of encouragement. This act of support strengthens my commitment to fulfilling the mandate entrusted to me by the people of Obudu. With the backing of key stakeholders like the UNICAL Alumni Association, I am confident we can achieve significant milestones and make Obudu a model for other local government areas,” he stated.
The chairman reiterated his pledge to promote an inclusive governance structure that would leverage the collective efforts of all groups within the community. He also encouraged the alumni association to continue its impactful initiatives, promising the council’s full support for their endeavors.
Earlier, Elder Udie Mike, Patron of the association, lauded Hon. Undiandeye for his remarkable achievements within a short time in office. He remarked, “The progress you’ve made is evident in the structure and efficiency of your office. I have always believed in your potential, and I am confident you will be remembered as one of the best Chairmen Obudu has ever had. May God grant you wisdom and sound health to lead us well.”
The highlight of the visit was the presentation of the association’s insignia to Hon. Undiandeye.
