The Forum of APC Chapter Chairmen in Cross River State has paid a thank-you visit to the Chairman of Biase Local Government Area, Hon. Edodi Eyong Edodi, in Calabar, commending his deliberate efforts to strengthen the party and deepen grassroots mobilisation across the local government.

Speaking on behalf of the Forum, its Chairman and APC Chapter Chairman of Boki, Engr. Chief Kelvin Njong, JP, said the visit, which held today in Calabar, followed the recent presentation of a car to the APC Chapter Chairman in Biase and eleven motorcycles to the APC Ward Chairmen across the eleven wards of the LGA.

Njong described the gesture as a significant investment in grassroots party organisation and a clear demonstration of Hon. Edodi’s commitment to building a stronger, more coordinated and effective party structure in Biase.

He commended the Council Chairman for recognising the critical role of party structures and leaders in driving grassroots engagement, noting that the mobility support would enable the chapter and ward leadership to reach communities more effectively, coordinate party activities and maintain closer contact with members across the LGA.

Njong described the gesture as more than the provision of vehicles, but a strategic investment in grassroots leadership that reflects the People First philosophy of Cross River State Governor, Sen. Prince Bassey Edet Otu. He stressed that a strong and functional grassroots structure is essential to advancing the Governor’s vision, strengthening the APC and ensuring that the interests of the people remain at the centre of governance across the state.

The Forum Chairman also highlighted other interventions by the Biase administration, including infrastructural projects, educational grants and scholarships for students of tertiary institutions, the provision of solar-powered boreholes across the wards, the reconstruction of major markets and empowerment initiatives targeting farmers and other residents.

He said the interventions demonstrate that Hon. Edodi’s commitment extends beyond party organisation to concrete initiatives aimed at improving livelihoods and promoting development at the grassroots.

Responding, the Chairman of Biase LGA, Hon. Edodi Eyong Edodi, expressed appreciation to the Forum for the visit and for recognising the efforts of his administration in strengthening the APC and supporting grassroots development.

Hon. Edodi explained that the provision of the car and motorcycles was motivated by the need to equip party leaders with practical means of reaching the people, coordinating activities and maintaining effective communication across the wards.

He stressed that the vehicles were not intended as personal benefits for the beneficiaries but as working tools to enhance grassroots engagement and improve the effectiveness of party structures across the LGA.

The Council Chairman reaffirmed his commitment to the APC and pledged to continue working with party leaders, stakeholders and communities to promote unity, stability and effective grassroots mobilisation.

He also commended Governor Otu for creating an enabling environment for local government administration and reiterated his administration’s commitment to advancing the Governor’s People First Agenda in Biase.

Also present at the visit were the Director-General of the Due Process and Price Intelligence Bureau, Hon. Charles Atu, Forum’s Head of Operations and Strategic Communication and APC Chapter Chairman of Bekwarra, Comrade Odama Thomas Odama, JP, Etubom Archibong Ironbar, APC Chapter Chairman of Calabar South, Emmanuel Ndum Minima, APC Chapter Chairman of Etung, Paul Ogeh, Adinye of Ogoja, and other APC Chapter Chairmen in the state.
