Deacon Andy Owai is a distinguished Drilling Consultant and successful businessman with a well-rounded educational background. His political journey has also been remarkable, marked by significant contributions and leadership roles within various political parties and organizations. Deacon Owai earned a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) in Co-operative Management from the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) in 2012. Building on his academic foundation, he pursued a Diploma in Oil & Gas Management from the University of Petroleum & Energy Studies (UPES) in 2018. This diverse educational background has equipped him with the expertise necessary to excel in his professional and political endeavors.

His political political career began with his candidacy in the 2011 general election, where he ran for the House of Representatives seat for the Akamkpa/Biase Federal Constituency under the Labour Party. His dedication to public service and political involvement continued to grow, leading to his selection as the Deputy Governorship Candidate for Cross River State in the 2019 elections, representing the African Democratic Congress (ADC). In addition, he played a pivotal role in the formation and registration of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Biase in 2014, where he was a lead member.

His leadership qualities were further demonstrated during his tenure as the Pioneer Chairman of the Cross River State Indigenous Contractors Forum from 2008 to 2010, highlighting his commitment to community development and empowerment.

His solid educational foundation, coupled with extensive experience in the political arena, has shaped him into a well-rounded individual with a deep desire to positively impact his community.     Deacon Andy Owai is one man that has the leadership quality to move Biase LGA to one of the biggest local government areas , such that it’d compete with big towns in states such as Lagos if given the opportunity.
